Beware Of The Other Jesus!

Beware of the Other Jesus!

You might think there is only One Jesus, WRONG, there is another.  We have to be careful not to follow this other Jesus.  There is another gospel too, so I warn you, do not be deceived, it could cost you your SALVATION!

Perhaps you’re wondering, “Another Jesus, another gospel, what is he talking about?”  The REAL Jesus Himself warned you, in Matthew 7:13-15.

13        Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14            Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

15        Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Continuing in verse 21 to 29,

21        Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22        Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23        And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

24            Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

25        And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

26        And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

27        And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

28        And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:

29        For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes

“And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.  And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.”

(Luke 21:8,16-17)

In Matthew 24:24, the REAL Jesus said, “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”  If we consider ourselves to be part of that “very elect,” then it IS POSSIBLE to be deceived, otherwise there would be no reason to warn us.

Peter warned us too, in Second Peter chapter 1, verses 1 to 10.

1          Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Savior Jesus Christ:

2          Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

3            According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

4            Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

5          And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

6          And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

7          And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

8          For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9          But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

10            Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

Now dropping down to verse 16,

16        For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty.

17        For he received from God the Father honor and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

18        And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.

19        We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

20            Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

21        For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Continuing in chapter 2, verses 1 to 3,

1          But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

2          And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

3          And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

Paul clearly recognized the danger, and when preaching to the Corinthian’s, he warned them and us, “For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.  But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

( 2 Corinthians 11:2-4)

As he often does, Paul digresses for a few verses and returns to his warning in verses 13 - 15.

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.  And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.  Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.”

It isn’t my intention, but I know some Christians will be offended by the remainder of this article.  I’m sorry, but I must proclaim the truth the Bible teaches!

So just who is this “other Jesus”?  Could he be the one that did away with God’s law and nailed it to the cross?  The REAL Jesus said. “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.  For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.”  (Matthew 5:17-18)

The REAL Jesus said, “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;”

(Hebrews 10:16)

The REAL Jesus was questioned about His Messiahship.  “Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.  But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:  For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.”  (Matthew 12:38-40, Jonah 1:17)

The REAL Jesus was buried on a Wednesday evening and rose Sabbath evening, fulfilling a full three days and three nights.

This other Jesus was buried on a Friday night and rose early Sunday morning, being in the grave only one day and two nights, failing to fulfill the sign of true Messiahship.

This other gospel teaches Sunday is a day of worship, the TRUE gospel teaches, “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it Holy!”  (Exodus 20:8-11)

The REAL Jesus said He was “Lord of the Sabbath.”

(Mark 2:27-28)

This other gospel observes Christmas and Easter and other worldly holidays.  The TRUE gospel teaches us about the “Feasts of the LORD.”  (Leviticus, chapter 23)

Instead of putting up Christmas trees and decorations, we go and stay in a booth or temporary dwelling and worship the Lord for seven days.   (Leviticus 23:33-44)

Instead of hunting Easter eggs and chocolate bunnies, we wash each others feet and eat unleavened bread.

(John 13:4-17)

This other gospel teaches to worship Mary and the Saints, the TRUE gospel teaches “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”

(Exodus 20:3)

This other gospel uses crosses, pictures and even statues in worship, the TRUE gospel teaches “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:  Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;  And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.  (Exodus 20:4-6)

There are many other things this other Jesus and other gospel teach that do not agree with the Holy Bible. They trust in their traditions.  The REAL Jesus rebuked them without exception,  “Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders . . .?  He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.  Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.  For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men . . . ”

(Mark 7:5-8)

It is odd, they use the same Bible we do, but they don’t believe it.  They choose to follow men, these false prophets that the REAL Jesus, Paul and the other Apostles warned about.

Today, many believe we are closing in on the “End Times.”  We had better examine ourselves and be certain we are following the REAL Jesus.  Notice in Matthew 24:4-13.

4          And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

5          For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

6          And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

7          For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

8          All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9          Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

10        And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

11        And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

12        And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

13        But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Dear friend, I have written this in Christian love with the hope of helping you find salvation.  To be in God’s Kingdom, you must be following the REAL Jesus, not the fake Jesus so many Christians are following today.  This tract was designed to motivate you to study your Bible and believe what it says!

Because love is all, I leave you with these thoughts:

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.  And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.  Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.”

(1 John 2:15-18)

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.  He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.  In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.  Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.  Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

(1 John 4:7-11)
