Dave Campbell, Minister
David Campbell was born in the 50's in Missouri. Raised on a farm with 4 brothers and one sister, David is the 3rd child in a family of six children. David’s parents are Efton and Helen Campbell of Flemington, Missouri.
As a Child, David attended the “Radio Church of God” which later became the “Worldwide Church of God,” which at the time was under the direction of Herbert W. Armstrong in Pasadena, California. David attended church for about 17 years but after graduating high school was sure, as most teenagers are, that he could figure it out for himself what was right and wrong and surely he would choose “right”.
Not being saddled with having to go to church, this left David the time to focus on what he really wanted to do and that was to be a professional singer and musician. He succeeded! From the age of 18 he began playing for a living and continued until he was playing nightclubs six nights a week. David worked and played with many of the “famous” country music performers of that day but as he got acquainted with many of them he noticed that many of them were absolutely miserable! He noticed that everyone was constantly competing to climb to the top and how they did it did not seem to matter. Some of the more famous names either took drugs to get high enough to perform or drank themselves to sleep after the shows. It wasn’t about the music anymore!
David soon realized that there had to be more to life than just playing night clubs and watching people get drunk and cheat on their spouses. Being an entertainer had taught David many things! One was to listen to and understand people, another was to understand what was going on in a person’s life and to have compassion for a person when things weren’t going so well. David had been there, done that and had the T-Shirt to prove it!
David didn’t have a clue as to what was really going on in his life! David had experienced life's up's and down's before he finally started to listen to what was really important and that was the calling of God! David remembers asking himself “why am I so miserable”?
At the age of 36 David made a life altering decision. He decided that enough was enough and that he needed to know why everything that he had tried failed! Something was really bothering David! He kept remembering things that he had heard in sermons even from when he was a child. He knew that he was not living according to any of the things that he was taught as a child and he was wondering, if not following these instructions might be the cause of his misery. David decided to read the Bible from cover to cover and see for himself if any of the things that he had been taught were really in the Bible.
Much to his surprise some of the things that he thought was in scripture was not there. Things like “God helps those who help themselves” and “cleanliness is next to Godliness”. What was in the Bible set David on a new path, which later lead to him being Ordained as a Minister of Jesus Christ.
After 18 years of church as a child, followed by 18 years of doing what seemed right at the time, David has since been dedicated to teaching the Word of God from the scriptures and helping people understand what God has in store for each one of us. David met his wife and helper, Lanora, at Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma where they were married in 1992.
After Realizing that most Christians today don’t really read their Bible’s but instead depend on following a man or following after traditions of men, David knew that he needed to share some of the things that he had learned with those who might be asking themselves some of the questions that he had asked of himself.
Why am I here? Is God Real? Is the Bible real or just a collection of stories? What is my destiny? Does anyone know what Jesus really did? What does God want from me? Is this all there is? Can I just worship God any way I want or is God particular?
All Good Questions! This brings us to why David and Ken are offering the DVD’s to anyone who ask, free of charge! As Scripture points out, Satan is the deceiver of this world and he is doing a great job of deceiving most of mankind! Only through prayer and a real desire to have a relationship with God can this be overcome. David wants to help anyone who has a real desire to find the answers to some of lifes real questions.
